Malvern has population of 3,447 according to the 2019 American Community Survey. Malvern carries the historic significance of being the site of the Battle of Paoli during the American Revolutionary War, as well the location of the studio of famed sculptor Wharton Esherick. Present-day Malvern is home to Immaculata University and Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies. Malvern is also a train stop for the SEPTA commuter line running from Thorndale to Philadelphia.
